the shift.

The searches you built your account around are disappearing.

Search behaviour has moved further in two years than in the previous ten. Most accounts are still built for the way it used to work.

One and two word searches fell from 42% to 24% of Google Ads impressions in nineteen months. Three and four word searches overtook them.

It doesn’t show up as a problem in your account. Impression share is measured against the auctions you entered — not the ones you never qualified for.

the css advantage.

The same click, bought cheaper.

Running Shopping in the UK or EU without a Comparison Shopping Service means handing Google a margin that most advertisers are completely unaware of. We change that.

Google Shopping takes a margin out of every click it sells you. Run the same campaigns through an independent CSS and it doesn’t — your bid competes as though it were 16–18% higher.

You won’t see it in your CPC column. Smart Bidding spends the advantage rather than banking it, so what moves is impression share, not cost per click. Most agencies never set it up. We do it on day one.

Campaign management

Search, Shopping and Performance Max, structured so the automation is pointed at profit rather than volume.

  • Campaign architecture and bidding strategy
  • Budget allocation across surfaces
  • Daily optimisation and judgement calls

Feed engineering & CSS

For ecommerce, the biggest unpulled lever in most accounts. In AI placements, the feed is the ad.

  • Titles, attributes, GTINs, custom labels
  • Supplemental feeds and availability logic
  • Independent CSS placement from day one

Measurement & AI readiness

Automated bidding is only ever as good as the signal behind it — and that signal now decides AI placements too.

about prosper.

Small on purpose. Specialised on purpose.

A family business that hires people who have worked on the other side of the platform.

The team is small and everyone is full-time. Not contractors, not a rotating bench, not an account manager you've never met reading a report someone else wrote. The people who work here have worked inside Google itself and at Big Five advertising agencies — they’ve seen how the platform is built, and how the largest budgets on it are actually run.

We only take on accounts we think we can move: ecommerce businesses with real product data, and a small number of lead gen businesses where the sales process is measurable enough to bid against. If yours isn't one of those, we'll say so on the first call rather than three months into a retainer.

What you won't get: a channel we don't specialise in, a dashboard instead of a conversation, or a report that quietly takes credit for what Smart Bidding did on its own.

No contracts. An alignment agreement instead. You won't sign a twelve-month tie-in, because a retainer shouldn't survive on paperwork. What you will sign is an alignment agreement — a shared commitment to give the work enough runway to show up in the data. On Foundation that's three months, because rebuilding a feed, correcting tracking and restructuring campaigns genuinely takes that long to read. On Growth it's one month. On Partner there's no period at all: above $100k a month performance moves fast enough that you'd know inside a fortnight, and if we're not earning it you should be free to go.

How billing works. The retainer is paid to Prosper, taken up front each month. Ad spend is billed by Google directly to your own payment method — we never hold or mark up your media budget. Fees exclude VAT.

Ongoing

faqs.

The ones that come up first.

Am I locked into a contract?
No. There's no twelve-month tie-in and no exit fee. You sign an alignment agreement that sets a runway: three months on Foundation, one month on Growth, and nothing at all on Partner. The logic is that smaller accounts need longer for structural work to show in the data, while above $100k a month you'd see the difference inside a fortnight anyway.
Who pays for the ad spend?
You do, directly to Google. Your account stays in your name with your own payment method on it. The only money that comes to Prosper is the retainer — so you keep ownership, and we have no incentive to push your budget up.
What does “ad spend at target ROAS” mean for the tiers?
The tier reflects the spend we can hold while still hitting the return you've set, not just the money going out of the door. Pushing $100k through an account at a 1.4x return is easy; holding it at 3x is the work. If your spend grows past a tier's ceiling because the account is performing, we'll tell you before the invoice changes.
Do you build our landing pages?
Not on Foundation. On Growth we audit and advise — specific, prioritised changes for your developer to implement. On Partner we can bring in a specialist to build them for you.
What is a CSS, and why does it matter?
An alternative route into the Google Shopping auction, created after the European Commission's ruling. Google Shopping retains a margin on clicks it sells; independent CSS providers don't — so the same bid competes as if it were 16–18% higher. Applies in the UK, EU and Switzerland. Most agencies leave Shopping sitting on Google's own service by default — we place every client on our own proprietary Prosper CSS from day one.
Are you really ready for ads in AI Overviews and AI Mode?
Worth being precise here. Ads in AI Overviews already serve from ordinary Search, Shopping and PMax campaigns — no placement to buy, no opt-out, no separate reporting. AI Mode formats are still in test. So nobody can honestly claim to target these. What we can do is make sure your feed, assets and conversion signal are good enough to qualify when the answer gets generated.
Do you work with competing businesses?
No. One client per sector per market. It's part of why we stay small and part of why we turn accounts down.
What size account do you take on?
From around $5,000 a month in ad spend. Below that a fixed retainer takes too large a share of the budget to make commercial sense for you, and we'd rather say so than take the money.
Why only Google Ads?
Because the platform now takes everything we've got. Between PMax, feed engineering, measurement, CSS and the shift into AI surfaces, there’s more depth in this one channel than most full-service agencies cover across their entire roster.
